We all make sacrifices for our children but staying at home sometimes creates financial worries that we might not have had before we quit our careers. It doesn't have to be that way. There are many ways to make money. Not only would you feel a sense of accomplishment and importance, but you would be contributing once again to the household financially.

Did you know that more companies are recognizing the benefits of hiring work at home employees or freelancers? This saves the company money and many times these people do a great job for them. What you must take into consideration is the amount of time you are able to put in and what times are suitable.

Internet home businesses are also exploding. However, regardless of how many websites tell you how much money you could make in a day, it's not overnight. Any business, including internet businesses, will take time to develop and there is that learning curve people forget about.

Here are some suggestions you might want to consider.

1. Take surveys. There are surveys you must do physically like go to a store or restaurant and there are online surveys. After completing the surveys you might be rewarded with money or points. It depends on the company. Points are redeemed for products, gift cards, or discounts.

2. Home-based positions like customer service rep, catalog order reps, and sales and telemarketing are becoming more popular. This is a win-win for both parties and some companies allow part-time.

3. Are you a writer, graphic artist, or website designer? Freelance. These are just a few talents people may have. But one is certain; many businesses are going to freelancers more frequently. Again, a way for companies to have good results and save money.

4. Do you have tons of beautiful projects? Sell it on eBay, Craigslist, or websites like Etsy.com. Selling homemade products are becoming more fashionable. Who doesn't want to own things that make you stand out?

5. Making extra money on the internet is one of the best opportunities for stay at home parents. So many people now use the internet it has catapulted more opportunities online. However, realize that internet businesses are not get rich quick schemes and in time monetary results will come.

These are just several ideas for stay-at-home moms to make extra money each month. More and more opportunities arise but you must take action. If you take your business seriously, success will soon follow. But when you first start out, remember; you won't get rich overnight but imagine if you could contribute financially to the household even just a little bit.
